Want good bar food? And no, it’s not a trick question. You got it. This place was a local recommendation. Good beers and surprisingly good food for a brewery. And to be honest, I don’t expect much when I go to these types of places. After eating here though, I realized I should expect good food. This place did it. Why not others? And to think about it, where’s the line between breweries and gastropubs anyways? Deschutes may be that missing link.

The place was large and there were people waiting. We grabbed a pager anyways and went to the bar. We found some standing room and found out they served a full menu there. Pretty cool. We ordered away and made some friends. Pretty lively place not to. And to give you a sense of the wait, by the time we finished, our pager lit up. That was about an hour later. Yikes.

Verdict: I wouldn’t mind coming back if someone wanted to check out the place.

Elk Burger @Deschutes Brewery

Great looking burger. Too bad I didn't get too much info about it. I do have to say, the fries for the both of us were pretty stale. $13.75USD

Dungeness Crab Roll @Deschutes Brewery

Not a lobster roll, but a crab roll, Dungeness crab that is and lots of it. It was great how they didn't mix it with so much mayo. Just let the crab meat do the work. Only thing was, it would probably be better as blue crab or even a lobster itself. This family of crab, though huge, needs some seasoning. It didn't help that the sweet potato fries weren't too great. $17.75USD

Ox Impressions: 

Habanero Hot Sauce @Deschutes Brewery

I didn't get a picture of the chicken wings we had. They were the Fresh Squeezed Wings which were good, but add a little of this hot sauce and they were great. The heat wasn't too over powering and I was able to press on, wing after wing doused in this lovely sauce. The heat does pick up after three wings. Good thing it was all I had.
